School Profile
Paraburdoo Primary School services the educational needs of children from Kindergarten to Year 7, from the mining town of Paraburdoo and the nearby Aboriginal Community of Bellary Springs. Rio Tinto is the major employer in Paraburdoo and actively supports the school to maximise opportunities for all students.
Our staff are enthusiastic and provide the students with a developmental education, based on achieving outcomes in line with the Curriculum Framework. Non-Teaching positions include administration support, library officer, education assistants, cleaning and gardening staff.
Students at Paraburdoo enjoy being involved at school and take pride in their achievements. The community supports the school and is actively involved in class and special day activities.
The school is well resourced and we take pride in being forerunners in learning with information and communication technologies. All classes have 4-6 networked computers, all with high speed internet access. Recent additions to our classrooms are interactive whiteboards which have enhanced the learning environment by students becoming more motivated and engaged. All staff have direct e-mail and regularly communicate with parents and colleagues state-wide.
The P&C Association operates a canteen, uniform shop and work hard to provide funds and support to our school on many levels. The School Council plays an important role in policy development and the setting of strategic directions.
Paraburdoo Primary has a friendly, supportive culture and maintains a strong safe environment through the positive attitude and support of staff, students, parents and community members.
